Born on Haida Gwaii island, Cole moved first to Port McNeill and later to Nanaimo with his family where he resides now. Cole was an avid sportsman growing up, with his favorite being hockey. His dedication to the sport lead to playing Junior hockey in the VIJHL and KIJHL as well as getting the priviledge to go to a number of WHL camps. As a young adult, he sought treatment at Cedars looking for a new way to live – and he found it. The time in treatment, sparked his curiosity leading him back to post-secondary where he explored psychology, sociology and then landed at Vancouver Island University where he completed the Community Health Worker program. His passion, and connection to helping others has grown through his own recovery and his time with Addiction Medical Consult Service, Intensive Case Management and Clearview Detox in Nanaimo. Cole was thrilled with the opportunity to return as part of the Cedars Clinical Team, returning to where his journey began. He is knowledgeable and friendly, but his biggest asset is his ability to lead with compassion and empathy allowing him to build genuine rapport with patients. These days, when he is not working Cole is an active member of the recovery community, enjoys golfing, fishing and to balance it off a good comedy podcast is a great way to end any day.
