Dr. Gerrit Prinsloo, MD, MbChB, CCFP, DABAM
In addition to his prominent role at Cedars, Gerrit is an Addiction Medicine Research Fellow with the BC Centre on Substance Use and a UBC Clinical Instructor on the Addiction Medicine Consult Service at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Before starting full time clinical practice in addiction medicine, Dr. Prinsloo was a full service rural family physician with hospital privileges in emergency, obstetrics, family practice, and addiction medicine. His research interests include practical applications to improve addiction patient outcomes as well as research ethics. In addition, Dr. Prinsloo is a study clinician on the OPTIMA clinical trial and is a member of the UBC Providence Health Care Research Ethics Board.
