Laura grew up in Vancouver, and has also lived in Edmonton, Edinburgh, and more recently Victoria and Nanaimo. She studied philosophy and history in university before obtaining her funeral director license, a profession she enjoyed for almost a decade. Her journey to recovery has been a long one, having attended multiple treatment centres before coming to Cedars in 2016. She is forever indebted to the many people who championed and advocated for her well-being along her journey, and feels incredibly grateful to be in a position to provide that for others. The connections that she makes with the patients at Cedars (along with her 2 year old niece!) are the greatest gifts in her life. When not at work, you can find Laura on the softball field or enjoying one of Vancouver Island’s many beautiful forests.
