Maia started her journey at Cedars as a volunteer driving female patients to meeting. After teaching in the community for 35 years, she applied for the Support Staff position with Cedars. After her personal experience in recovery, Maia’s interest for helping others with addiction became her passion. Maia strives to continue learning and growing within the Cedars community. Maia was born in Ottawa, Ontario and frequently moved locations while working in the military. With her experience in the military, she has lived abroad 3 times and has moved nearly 13 times. Maia enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren, hiking the many trails of the island, and adopting senior dogs.
