Nicholas Fitterer, MN, NP(f)
Nicholas came to Cedars with a wealth of experience as a Nurse Practitioner and provides patients with holistic medical support. He plays an integral role within the Medical team, bridging the gap and expertise between physicians, nursing, and support staff. Nicholas believes that in order to treat and prevent illness, we need to analyze the person as a whole and consider all factors that may be negatively impacting their health. His approach to medical care looks at a number of factors including health promotion, relationship building, education, patient-centered care, and the body, mind, and spirit of every patient. He believes that the residential treatment model at Cedars is the best way for patients to foster a greater sense of connection with their own bodies and minds, as well as with their family, friends, and community.
Nicholas is grateful for the opportunity to have a positive influence in someone’s life and to see their progress through treatment. He enjoys working in a collaborative environment where all the staff play a role in the wellness plan for each patient. Nicholas has a keen interest in research and training within the field of mental health and addictions. In his free time, Nicholas enjoys volunteering as a firefighter, cycling, and running.
