'Born and raised in Nanaimo and proud member of Peguis First Nation, Tehya is a Cedars alumni who is in recovery and is beginning their career in the field of mental health and addiction with their passion for helping others. Tehya loves that working at Cedars gives them an opportunity to be there for people who are in a place that they have been, literally and metaphorically. Tehya is an active member of their local recovery community and can be found attending meetings or doing service work when they are not working at Cedars.

Tehya loves space and astrology and as a Taurus, Tehya enjoys finding enjoyment and comfort in the simple things. Tehya loves everything music from live shows to playing instruments to dancing. Tehya also has pets and loves animals. Some of Tehya's other hobbies are playing video games, board games, cooking, baking, and more. Tehya loves to be outdoors in nature, especially swimming in rivers and the ocean and wandering in the forest. A gift of recovery for Tehya is their newfound excitement and gratitude for life and they are living a beautiful life full of connection, love, and so much more, one day at a time.
